Musk Metals is focused on the development of highly prospective, discovery-stage mineral properties located in some of Canada’s top mining jurisdictions.
Our growing portfolio of mineral properties exhibit favorable geological characteristics in underexplored areas within the “Chapais-Chibougamau”, “Abitibi”, “Upper Laurentides”, “Temiscamingue”, and “James Bay” regions of Quebec, and the “Golden Triangle” district of British Columbia.
Upper Laurentides, Quebec
• The Fafnir Lake property consists of 36 claims covering 2,102 hectares (21 km2). The Property is approximately 75km north of the town of Mont-Laurier and has good access through a network of secondary and lumber roads. The property is comprised of the Huillier Lake and Fafnir Lake showings.
• Discovered in 1968 and never followed-up, the Huillier Lake showing is nearly 3 km north of the Fafnir Lake showing and consists of at least 5 light colored and parallel pegmatite dykes, striking almost due north and dipping 10 to 20 degrees to the east. A total of 3 historical holes drilled from the Huillier showing crosscut several 0.3 to 0.6 metre wide intervals that assayed 0.06 to 0.11% U3O8
• In the early 2000’s, government geologists have mapped many new pegmatite outcrops along a northern trend between both Fafnir Lake and Huillier Lake showings. These pegmatite outcrops were never followed up for molybdenum, lead, or niobium despite similar geological features.
Mont-Laurier, Quebec
• The Bissent Lake property comprises 35 claims covering 2,056 hectares (20,6 km2). The Property is approximately 50 km northeast of the town of Mont-Laurier and has excellent access through a network of secondary and lumber roads. The property includes the Trou-do showing that was sampled and assayed where a grab sample returned 0.11% U3O8. The mineralization is within a pegmatite dyke hosted in a biotite paragneiss.
Temiscamingue, Quebec
• The Property is in the Temiscamingue region within Belleterre-Angliers greenstone belt (BAGB) of the metal endowed Abitibi Subprovince.
• The BAGB is regionally known for the historic gold mines around the town of Belleterre which lies 50 km to the east and numerous Cu-Ni magmatic occurrences and historic mines. Two historic showings, Old Baldface and Fabre-Nord, underpin the mineralization on the Property.
• The Old Baldface showing, circa 1930, is comprised of a 15m deep shaft, historic trenching and limited drilling. Mineralization is polymetallic in nature hosted in en-echelon lenses of quartz veins within a shear zone.
Abitibi, Quebec
• 100% interest in the prospective “Elon” Lithium property that spans over 245 hectares in the La Corne and Fiedmont townships of Quebec, approximately 40 kilometres north of the mining town of Val d’Or.
• Strategically located approximately 600 meters northeast of the Lithium Amérique du Nord (“North American”) project (formerly Mine Québec Lithium), which produced over 907,000 tonnes of material, at 1.40% Li2O from 1955 to 1965 (Boily et al, 1989).
• The Elon lithium property has excellent infrastructure support with road network, railway, electricity, water, and trained manpower available locally.
• The Property is located in an active lithium exploration/mining area with several lithium projects in the vicinity
• Several historical and currently active lithium and molybdenum prospects/mines located approximately 3 km to 20 km from the property such as:
Golden Triangle, BC
• Highly prospective mineral claims located in BC’s famous “Golden Horseshoe” region contiguous to the southeast and southwest of Benchmark Metal’s (BNCH – TSX.V) “Lawyers” Gold and Silver project
• These claims cover approximately 13,792 acres and are on trend with several mines found in the region
• Situated between TDG Gold Corp’s “Baker” and “Shasta” mines and along strike with the “Kemess” mine further to the southeast that hosts 2.7Moz of gold equivalent
• Neighboring Benchmark Metals is conducting a 50,000-metre drill program and hopes to establish a five-million-plus-ounce resource by the first half of 2021
• Lawyers East & West claims are are on trend with several mines found in the region, below TDG Gold Corp’s “Baker” Mine and “Shasta” Mine and in line with the “Kemess” Mine further South East that hosts 2.7Moz of gold equivalent
• The Property has been optioned to a third party with 50% of the potential 100% already exercised
Chapais-Chibougamau Mining Camp, Quebec
• The Pluto properties are contiguous to and within Kenorland Minerals “Chebistuan” Project in the prolific, Abitibi Greenstone Belt in the province of Quebec
• Pluto and Chebistuan are made up of a series of crustal scale deformation zones and highly prospective sedimentary-volcanic rock contacts
• The project is located west of the town of Chibougamau, Quebec, which provides excellent infrastructure and an experienced local workforce for exploration and mining activities
• The Pluto Properties have been under-explored for base and precious metals and historic assay results returned Cu-Zn-Au-Ag values
• Some historic diamond drill holes returned visible sulfide mineralization and VMS showings (Dolomieu-Sud)
• The Property has been optioned to a third party
James Bay, Quebec
• Consists of 105 claims covering 5,603 hectares (56 km2) immediately adjacent to the south to Li-Ft Power Ltd.’s Pontax project.
• Transected by the major NE-SW Causabiscau Shear that separates the Nemiscau Sedimentary Sub-Province from the La Grande Pluto-Volcanic Sub-Province. The Nemiscau Sub-Province is comprised mostly of metasediments and little greenstone belts, felsic intrusives and large masses of pegmatites.
• The Causabiscau Shear transects the Pontax South property over 16 km, representing approximately 10% of its total length.
• Another regional shear, oriented E-W, crosscuts the property over 6 km along mafic and/or amphibolite rocks which are reported at Pontax South.
James Bay, Quebec
• Consists of 20 claims covering 1,089 hectares (10.9 km2) along the Nottaway River Shear for over 5 km, a prominent regional structure that can be followed over 200 km.
• Île Interdite is near the contact between the Nemiscau Sedimentary and the Opatica Pluto-Volcanic Sub-Provinces, consisting of paragneiss and amphibolite rocks.
• The Île Interdite property hosts an important beryl showing that was identified in the 1960’s by the same group of Quebec government geologists who reported spodumene at both Whabouchi and Cyr deposit’s locations.
• Beryl is a relatively rare pathfinder mineral for lithium, often observed in pegmatites. At Île Interdite, beryl is disseminated in a pegmatite.
